Web Design Case Study | Healthy Parkinson's Communities

Regardless of industry, a company's internet presence can have a significant impact on its success. Even in 2022, some businesses still don’t realize how important a website is.

Having a strong online presence, particularly a website, can make or break you. After all, it is the first impression you give viewers of your organization.

Healthy Parkinson's Community - a non-profit organization, provided us with a start of a Wix website, but without a clear vision of how they would like viewers to perceive their website.

Healthy Parkinson’s Communities initiative is to help inspire and support communities of any size–from neighborhoods to states–working to change how people live with Parkinson’s disease. It is their desire to mobilize the energy within the Parkinson’s community and give Parkinson’s a seat at the table when it comes to addressing and being addressed by public health initiatives.

HPC wanted to re-think their new website in order to improve their digital footprint and make it as easy as possible for individuals with Parkinson’s to view the resources they needed most. Some specific client needs were to add extensive resources and information as well as showcase available exercise classes to benefit individuals battling Parkinson’s.

Our web design experts got to work on redesigning the Wix website as well as brainstorming the best theme of colors, fonts, and imagery to best represent HPC. Along with the HPC team, we decided on a mixture of gold to match the HPC logo, navy blue accents, and images of individuals living a happy active lifestyle. It was important to show positive imagery and hope for those living with this disease.

We redesigned the menu and submenus for easy and clear navigation throughout the website. Adding a functional footer was an important addition for easy navigation.

Now, when a visitor enters the new Healthy Parkinson’s Community website, it is likely they will find the information they need, stay longer on the website, offer ways to keep in touch via email and social media, and perhaps make a charitable donation to support HPC’s fight against Parkinson’s disease.
